Learn Thai Combo
The Thai Basic Combo Course teaches the national spoken language in the dialect of educated speakers of Bangkok and Central Thailand. It starts with a programmed introduction to Thai phonology to acquaint you with the significant features of the language's sound system. When writing, the Thais use a complex system based on Sanskrit, but in the course a special phonetic transcription is used which will help you read and write more easily.
This two level course provides introductory materials in modern spoken Thai for students who want to learn to speak and understand the language of the over 22 million people in Thailand. The first level is concerned with basic dialogues, grammar, and vocabulary. Level Two continues the dialogues with exercises in comprehension and vocabulary, for students who wish to go on to greater mastery of the language.
The Thai Basic Volume I contains Lessons 1 through 20 and comes with 19 CD's and a 425 page textbook or 1 DVD with audio on MP3 and textbook in a PDF file.
The Thai Basic Volume II contains Lessons 21 through 40 and comes with 17 CD's and a 420 page textbook or 1 DVD with audio on MP3 and textbook in a PDF file.
