The Lao Programmatic language course is the most complete, and effective program available to the public. No other
course that we know of comes close to the qualifiable fluency one achieves through this course. Learning Lao is
not easy, but with the Lao Programmatic course, you will obtain a basic understanding and familiarity with the
Lao language. Start your adventure to learn Lao today.
The text is one part of the course. The other portion is a set of audio recordings. The text provides all of the
visual material, and the CD's - MP3 provide all the audio portion of the course. Neither is complete without the other.
However, the text and the audio materials together comprise a fully self-instructional course in reading basic Lao
Written materials.
There are approximately 1600 'frames' in the course. Each is numbered and is to be performed in sequence. Since
each frame requires varying amounts of time, it is difficult (if not impossible) to say how many hours would be
required for anyone to finish the course.
It is expected that anyone who completes this course would be able to read elementary written materials of all types,
whether in connected text or not, with good fluency and would be able to read intermediate materials with moderate
use of the dictionary.
As has been said before, this is a fully programmed course. As such this course was designed with the following
basic tenets in mind: (1) Organization of material for presentation in an orderly and systematic fashion, (2) Presentation of material in small increments, (3) Frequent and varied repetition of points of information, (4) Elicitation of correct reponses, (5) Provision for immediate confirmation of responses, and (6) Guidance with respect to subject matter.
The term 'fully self-instructional' is used to mean that no outside help is required to learn the material.
Whatever guidance is required is provided in the audio files.
